VASUDHAIV KUTUMBAKAM

The most fascinating fact about the diverse Indian culture is its oneness! We, since our childhood, have been taught that God is one. Some religions have millions of Gods n goddesses, some have few, but we teach our children that God is ONE.  If children find it difficult to understand, I cite them the example of water pipelines in their houses. There may be several taps and showers in their houses but the ultimate source of life giving water is ONE on their rooftop!
Other example of oneness of God for smarter kids is their mom or dad's bank account. The account is one but they can withdraw money from any ATM from anywhere! Some ATMs may charge some fine if we go to them after some fixed withdrawal limit. This may be used to draw an analogy to Karma, which says that we should not seek help from GOD for every problem we face.  Okay Jokes apart. I discussed oneness of God before the main topic Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam because it’s a inference of oneness of god. If God is ONE then we are children of that one God, That means we are a family, the whole world is like a family irrespective of country, caste, creed or religion.  .That's what Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam means . “We live in a global village. Let our Global Village be free from fear, greed, violence and terror. Let us keep the human and physical environment clean and healthy. Let us protect it from sheer techno-centric activity and capricious consumerism. Let us learn to be humane humans and follow the ancient Indian philosophy of ‘vasudhaiv kutumbakam’, which promotes global citizenship and culture of peace.”
This ultimately leads to the oneness of mankind.
If the values of vasudhaiv kutumbakam are inculcated in a child since his/her childhood, it will be very easy for that child to understand the three realities of life i.e. material ,human and divine that makes a child both good and smart human being. Most of the human being live a common life dependent on materialistic pleasures. This is the first reality of life. We work hard for it, earn money to meet our materialistic needs. In Today's world, Activities of men are so much full of hustle and bustle that leaves no room for a common man to realize the sorrows and sufferings of the poor, the orphans and socially neglected people. We hope to materialize this dream into reality, which can be achieved only by mutual understanding and sincere co-operation physically, mentally and spiritually. Here comes the second reality of life- the human side of life. If God has made us human, we have to behave like humans, so that our children could learn from us and prove to be a good human being in future. The alarming rate of increasing crimes in the society proves that human behavior of human is getting extinct. The most recent example of deteriorating human values is Delhi Gang rape or Damini's case. It shook the whole country and has shown mirror to the society we live in. Stronger laws only can't help to reform our society. We need to be humane. The third reality of life, a child or a human must know is its divine aspect. A human remains a human only till he/she remains connected with the almighty. We should teach our children about the divine superpower which runs this universe. Our soul is also a part of that almighty which gives life to every creature in this world. Every human being, especially parents, must know that a child infused with such values is a gift of God to mankind, a pride of the human race and  a potential light of the world.
